Leave THem Kids At Home

Here at LesGetLucky, we pride ourselves on being the lit godmommas. The ones who send random Amazon packages, pick the kids up for approximately five hours of wild, instructional adventure, and then drop them off wired until the next time. We’re here for FaceTimes and sugar rushes for the kids we love, with no desire to have any children of our own.

Don’t worry, we’re here to be a safe space for those who have chosen to remain child-free (no matter the reason), specifically our LGBTQ+ friends.

Here, we celebrate the freedom to explore the world without the responsibilities of parenthood – from sleeping in on the weekends to indulging in luxurious accommodations on the other side of the globe. The internet has newly named our kind DINKs (Double Income, No Kids), which we’ve embraced like reindeer in Norway.

Through our time together, we’ve found the following benefits to child-free travel*:
(chill out, some of this is kinda sorta satire)

  • Freedom: Duh. Those with kids should truthfully admit that navigating any space with a child is like a special force mission. Being child-free gives us the freedom to move with spontaneity and adventure or if we want, with ease and calm. With no little people to consider, we’re focused on exploration (at all available hours). Whether it’s hiking through the mountains of Northampton, diving into the coral reef-filled ocean of the Maldives, or taking a midnight ride to chase the Northern Lights, the world is your literal crumb-free oyster.

  • Luxury: Have you ever flown business class?? Reason #6245 that we don’t have kids. A lay-flat seat for a tiny person who may never remember?? Traveling without children can free upcoins for the most luxurious accommodations. Add an extra star to your resort options, an extra mountain to your hotel view, a casual spa day with all of the extras, and the food – add a few extra ridiculously priced and wildly delicious courses. Without your minions, you can fully immerse yourself in the lap of luxury, indulging in the finer things with less compromise.

  • Adults-Only, Please: Trust us when we say… once you’ve experienced an adults-only resort, you’ll wonder how you ever existed otherwise. Spending time at the pool without the occasional beach ball hitting your head or the lack of screams throughout the property is an understated luxury during travel. From vibrant resorts like Sanctuary Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, Bahia Principe SianKa’an in Mexico, or Grand Park Kodhipparu in the Maldives, the best (and most quiet) escapes have been discovered at adults-only spaces. There are no tears except your own. Period.

Don’t be shamed into believing that choosing to remain child-free isn’t empowering and incredible. Make the most of your flexible time and curate itineraries that excite you, elevate the journey, or allow you the space to just be… lazily.

TL;DR – Leave them kids at home and see the world through freedom, luxury, and adult-only experiences.

*Disclaimer: these are our experiences (and the experiences of our other childfree friends), but there are plenty of parents who create incredible family experiences with and without their children. And we bet they’d admit child-free travel is supreme… just saying.
