Four Years. Nineteen Countries. And a Lifetime To Go.

A few years in the game and 19 passport stamps together, our fourth anniversary felt like the right time to get really serious about sharing more of our travel adventures with you.

Easily over 200 hours together in planes, trains, and automobiles across the globe and we have a few opinions on some people, places, and things we can’t wait to revisit… or we’re grateful we only did once (we’re talking to you, Paris). We’re committed to a habit of incredible views and experiences, so it seems a little selfish that we’d keep it all to ourselves.

Celebrating four years, here are our Top 4 Destinations, with a little explanation on what has us obsessed:

1. Tromsø, Norway 🇳🇴

Tromsø was a place that Lu found on a journey to the top of the globe. She literally searched for the highest place humans can go and found this wonderland. Tromsø showed us the model for “hygge” - cozy, content, comfort - through its incredible landscapes, people, and culture.

We found ourselves witnessing the stunning Northern Lights (1 of the 7 Natural Wonders of the world) on multiple nights, journeying through snow-capped fjords that also had beaches(!!), and learning the political keys to their country’s happiness (hello, universal healthcare).

And most importantly, it’s where Lu popped the question!!! 💍

Tromsø will always have a special annual place in our hearts and our passports

2. Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Puerto Rico had to be on this list because it’s Lu’s homeland. So DUH we’re obsessed.

But PR isn’t on this list out of obligation. You’ll start to notice we love marveling at nature in its various forms. And Puerto Rico has it all - mountains, beaches, caves, rainforest, bioluminescent water, and a lot more. On each visit, we’ve gone sailing, hiking, chasing waterfalls, driving, snorkeling, etc etc.

Pro Tip: Get outside of San Juan to get a fuller experience.

Puerto Rico is also accessible to a lot of people (no passport needed and multiple international airports) and gives you the ability to stay in one place for your entire trip, travel the whole island in a day, or hop around for a 5-day itinerary. No matter how long you go or what you’re looking for, you’ll find Puerto Rico has something new to show you every time.

3. Banff, Canada 🇨🇦

To start… Banff Feels like a Hallmark movie. A quaint city that feels both small and tight knit but also so big since it’s surrounded by the most gorgeous mountains.

Banff is another example of “hygge” - cozy, comfortable - and offered so much to do. We found nature trails on our walk back to our hotel, made our way to Johnston Canyon for the waterfalls, and ate the most delicious Alberta beef everywhere we could get our hands on it.

The crystal blue waters of Lake Louise, which is fed by a glacier, are a must-see.

Another reason we can’t wait to get back - it’s our goal to experience Banff during all of the seasons. The city takes on new personalities and a different list of things to do depending on fall, winter, spring, or summer.

4. Maldives 🇲🇻

Maldives has some of the most incredible biodiversity either of us has ever seen. We spent over a week at a resort situated on top of and surrounded by coral reefs. Every time we opened our room door, we were greeted by so much ocean life.

The Maldives has a way of making you feel so small in the world. A collection of atolls (a ring-shaped reef, island, or chain of islands formed of coral), we could walk from one end to the other to witness endless ocean.

At our resort, there was a dedicated marine biologist on site, who made sure to stay connected with DAILY. We joined her tours and she even led us on a few private sunrise snorkeling tours - absolutely incredible (an understatement). There’s something about watching nature just be nature.

The Maldives gave us everything we needed to experience the divinity of the ocean, find rest, and enjoy each other.

Overall, these places have felt like home for some piece of who we are as individuals and also as a couple. Travel is where we can ground in our creativity, innovation, and our relationship. Nothing feeds or tests your love of your partner like international travel (lol).
